The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
The Q Revo is a great option if you're looking to buy a mid-range mop and robot vacuum. It has a great mopping capability, but it lacks some of the features that are found in its more expensive sibling.
During testing, it was able remove pet hair and dry oats out of medium-pile carpets. However, unlike other models, it doesn't employ LIDAR to map out your home.
1. Roomba S9+ from iRobot
The iRobot Roomba S9+ is one of the top robot vacuums. It is loaded with features and incredible cleaning power, including a dirt compartment that is built into the charging base. The robot also learns your cleaning habits and suggest automated schedules to provide a hands-free and effortless experience.
The iRobot Home App guides you through the setup process. Once the system is in place it can begin automatic cleaning with a single button click. You can choose a general clean that focuses on the removal of larger debris such as rice and cereal. Or you can opt for two thorough mappings to ensure that your entire home is completely cleaned.
This robot vacuum is effective on floors that are unfinished and carpet with a low pile. It can remove pet hair and sucks large objects up. It doesn't lose its suction as fast as some other robot vacuums. It's not able to work with high-pile carpets or plush carpets however, iRobot claims that future models will be more efficient.
The S9+ features a new design from iRobot, which is focused on improving edge and corner cleaning. It's the first Roomba to adopt a flat-fronted D-shaped design, which will allow it to hug furniture and walls. It's an improvement over the hockey puck-shaped robovacs which are widely used however we found it to be just marginally better than circular models.
iRobot also claims that the S9+ has an advanced filter system that prevents microscopic dust particles and allergens from circulating in your home. We think this is a nice statement but not enough to justify a higher price.
Its smart navigation system employs sensors that remember your home's layout and vSLAM technology to map your interior. It can then clean your entire home efficiently by avoiding obstacles such as stairs and other obstacles. The iRobot Home app lets you control the robot and set cleaning times, and set up virtual boundary markers, so it can recognize areas that require more attention.
2. Roborock Q Revo
When it comes to robots that combine vacuuming and mopping, the Roborock Q Revo stands out. Its vacuum settings are as effective as those on more expensive models and its mopping system is even better. Its spinning pads do a more impressive job of cleaning your floors than a stationary vibrating pad.
The only downside is that it doesn't have an additional rubber brush to allow to provide more thorough cleaning, but that's an acceptable cost to pay for if you are looking for one of the top robots available. The dust tank on the robo-vac is larger than many of its competitors and filling it takes just two or three cycles, even when you've got a lot of dirt.
In terms of the mopping system, I was impressed by its ability to scrub tough dirt off my floors. The two lowest mopping settings that are less powerful than the high-powered modes, produce very little noise, so you can work or even watch television without getting distracted. It will gently hit furniture or walls and move on whenever it comes across one.
What really distinguishes the Q Revo apart is that it's designed to operate almost completely on its own, with no need for human intervention. The robo-vac has a multifunction dock that can automatically transfer physical trash to the bin hidden from view, as well as washes and dry mop pads and replenishes its clean water tank. The app will only notify you when something is wrong, such as a low clean water tank or a canceled vacuuming session due to the bin being full.
You can also create or merge actual rooms in order to customize the way that Q Revo handles your home. This feature is useful when you have different flooring in different areas of your home or when you have to frequently get rid of clutter like toys, clothes, and books. The robot vacuum was also among the best performers in my tests, picking up debris on carpets and hardwood floors on the first go. It can vacuum up even wet spills. I recommend drying the area with a towel prior to sending it in.
3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni has all of the features you'd expect from a top-quality robot vacuum and mop combo and more. It has more info here the ability to rotate mops and a powerful vacuum that can clean carpets and hard floors. It's akin to the iRobot Roomba S9+. It also has a self-cleaning station that automatically washes and cleans the mop pads to keep them fresh and ready for reuse. It also has a sensor that recognizes obstacles better and prevents it from falling on furniture and other objects.
The most notable improvement to the ECOVACS The X1 Deebot is the modern, sleeker design. This is thanks to Danish company Jacob Jensen Design, best known for their Bang & Olufsen product line. While still quite massive--it's nearly two feet tall and deep and weighs almost four pounds--the robot itself and its base are less bulky than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot j7.
This version is also more efficient than the X1 one, because it has faster battery charging and can handle a complete cleaning of around 1,500 square feet on one charge. It also has a larger and more robust dustbin that can store more debris. This makes it easier to empty.
Lastly, the X2 Omni has a more user-friendly app and an assistant voice that works offline, which means you can use it even if you're away from home. It also comes with additional mopping modes as well as a smart routing feature that gives it the flexibility to clean specific areas or rooms of your home instead just following a specific path.
The Omni Omni has the best mopping performance of any robot we've tested, because of its mop pads rotating to clean tough stains away and a motor that creates plenty of downward pressure. The vacuuming capabilities are also excellent, and it increases suction when it senses a carpet to ensure a thorough cleaning. It also has a huge battery that can last for weeks between charges and its mopping mode is as efficient as anything we've seen in an ordinary robot.
4. Dreametech L10s Ultra
The Dreametech L10s Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a premium model that comes with a variety of convenience features not often found on robots in this price range. It has the ability to create precise floor maps, recognize different types of flooring and is among the few that can automatically wash and dry its mop pads. These features are nice, but they also push the L10s into the class of luxury. This might make it more expensive than what homeowners would need.
It is designed to look like a contemporary floor cleaner designed to look like a modern floor cleaner, the L10s Ultra is a tall and slim device that has an elegant white finish highlighted by silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine is adorned with an enormous bumper that shields the furniture and vacuum cleaner while moving around your home. In the pane in the front is additional navigation technology in the form of sensors that aid the L10s Ultra navigate tight corners and avoid obstacles.
On the top of the vacuum, there is a single button which acts as an on/off switch. Pressing this will activate the vacuum, and clicking it again will shut off the vacuum and send it back to its base station. The circular menu located in the center of the control panel allows you to select cleaning modes, schedules and preferences. The left and right buttons beneath the screen will open the settings menu in which you can tweak how the L10s Ultra integrates with your home.
Like the iRobot Roomba S9+ and Roborock Q Revo, the L10s Ultra uses a combination of LIDAR and camera-based navigation technology to help you map out your home. This allows the robot to clean and mop efficiently, without getting stuck. The LIDAR assists the robot vacuum to avoid obstacles and recognize them and avoid them, which is a great feature for households with pets or young children.
The L10s Ultra is a powerful vacuum cleaner that removes 98.4% debris from our test on hardwood floors and taking out all but stubborn juice stains. The mops also work well and remove 98.4% debris from our tile, carpet, and wood tests. It was not as efficient in removing sand from our hard floor or quaker oats from the carpet.
