The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
The Q Revo is a fantastic choice if you are seeking a robot vacuum and mop that's middle-of-the-road. It's a great mopping capability, but it lacks some of the features of its more expensive sibling.
During testing it was able to tackle dry oats and dust on carpets of medium pile and pet hair on hard flooring. However, unlike other models, it doesn't use LIDAR to determine the layout of your home.
1. Roomba S9+ from iRobot
The iRobot Roomba S9+ is one of the top-rated robot vacuums. It is loaded with features and impressive cleaning power, such as the dirt compartment integrated into the charging base. The robot also learns your cleaning habits and suggest automated schedules to ensure you have a hands-free experience.
Setup is easy, thanks to the iRobot Home app that walks you through the procedure. Once everything is connected, you can start the automatic cleaning functions at the push of one button. You can opt for a general clean that prioritizes getting rid of larger pieces of debris such as cereal and rice or go for two thorough maps of your area to ensure that your home is properly arranged.
This vacuum works well on floors that are unfinished and carpets with low pile. It can remove pet hair and sucks big objects up. It doesn't lose its suction as fast as some other robot vacuums. It does have a hard time with plush or high-pile carpet, however iRobot says it will improve with the next models.
The S9+ features a new design from iRobot that concentrates on enhancing corner and edge cleaning. It's the very first Roomba that adopts flat-fronted D-shaped designs. The company hopes this will allow it to fit into walls and furniture. It's a nice change from the standard hockey puck shape of most robovacs, though we found it to be only incrementally better than circular models.
iRobot also claims the S9+ has an improved filtering system that stops tiny dust particles and allergens from circulating in your home. We like the statement however, it's not enough to justify a premium price.
Its smart navigation system utilizes sensors to remember the layout of your home and vSLAM for mapping the interior of your home. This allows it to stay clear of obstacles, such as stairs and other barriers, and also to clean your entire house in the most efficient way possible. The iRobot Home App allows you to schedule cleaning times and set virtual boundary markers to ensure that the robot is aware of what areas require extra attention.
2. Roborock Q Revo
When it is about robots that can combine vacuuming and mopping and mopping, the Roborock Q revo is a standout. Its vacuum settings are as efficient as those found on higher-end models and its mopping feature is superior, as its spinning pads do a better job of scrubbing floors than a stationary vibrating pad.
The only downside is that it does not have an additional rubber brush to allow for deeper cleaning, but it's an affordable cost to pay if are looking for one of the top robots on the market. The dust tank of the robo-vac is bigger than most of its competitors and filling it takes just two or three cycles, even when you've got the most dirt.
In terms of the mopping device, I was impressed by its ability to scrub off hard-to-clean dirt from my floors. Its two mopping modes at the lowest that are less abrasive than the more powerful ones, create very little noise, which allows you to work or even watch television without interruption. If it comes across a wall or furniture piece it gently smacks into it and then moves forward.
The Q Revo is unique in that it operates almost entirely on its own, requiring only minimal user involvement. The dock of the robo-vac has multiple functions and can automatically transfer garbage into a bin hidden. It also washes, dries and refills the clean water tank. The app is adept at nagging you only when something is in need of attention, like the water tank being empty or a scheduled vacuuming session being cancelled because of a full dust bin.
You can also create or combine actual rooms to customize the way that Q Revo treats your home. This feature is beneficial for those who have different flooring in different areas of your house or when you have to frequently get rid of clutter like toys, clothes, and books. The robo-vac is also very efficient and was among the top performers during my tests, taking debris from carpets as well as hardwood floors in the first attempt. It can even vacuum up wet spills, though I recommend wiping them dry with a cloth before sending the robot in.
3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni has all of the features you'd expect from a top-quality robot vacuum and mop combo and more. Like the iRobot Roomba S9+, it has an excellent vacuum with a powerful suction to clean hard and carpet floors, plus a rotating mop that scrubs tough staining. It also has an automatic cleaning station that washes and empties the mop pads, keeping them fresh and ready for reuse. It also has a new sensor system that is able to better detects obstacles, granting it the ability to avoid falling over furniture or other objects.
The most notable improvement over the ECOVACS The X1 Deebot is the sleeker, more modern design. This is thanks to Danish company Jacob Jensen Design, best known for their Bang & Olufsen product line. While still quite big--it's over two feet in height and depth and weighs in excess of four pounds--the robot and its base are less bulky than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot j7.
This model is also more efficient than the X1 version, since it has faster battery charging and can handle a complete cleaning of around 1,500 square feet with just one charge. Additionally, it comes with a larger dustbin that is more durable to hold more debris and is easier to empty when required.
Additionally, the X2 Omni has a more user-friendly app and an assistant voice that works offline, allowing you to use it even if you're not home. It also comes with additional mopping modes as well as an intelligent routing feature which allows it to clean specific areas or rooms of your home instead of just following a specific path.
The X2 Omni is the most effective mopping performance of any robot we've tested because of its rotating mop pads that clean tough stains away and a motor that generates plenty of downward pressure. The vacuuming capabilities are also excellent, and it increases suction when it detects a carpet to ensure a thorough cleaning. It has a large, rechargeable battery that can last up to one week. The mopping feature of the robot is also powerful.
4. Dreametech L10s Ultra
The Dreametech L10s Ultra robot mop and vacuum is a premium model that has a range of convenience features not often found on robots in this price range. It has the ability to create detailed floor maps, detect different flooring types and is one of the few to automatically wash and dry the mop pads. These are nice features, but they also place the L10s in the premium category. This could mean it's more expensive than what homeowners want.
The L10s Ultra looks like a modern floor cleaner. It is slim and tall, with a white finish, accentuated by silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine has a large bumper that protects the vacuum cleaner and furniture as you move around your home. Sensors are concealed behind the front panel, which helps the L10s Ultra navigate tight corners and avoid obstacles.
On the top of the screen, you'll find one button that acts as an on/off switch. Clicking this will turn on the vacuum, while clicking it again will shut off the vacuum and return it to its base station. The central control panel is a circular menu that lets you choose cleaning modes, schedules, and preferences. The left and right buttons on the screen will open the settings menu in which you can alter the way that the L10s Ultra interacts with your home.
The L10s Ultra, like the iRobot Roomba S9+ or Roborock Q Revo uses a combination LIDAR and cameras-based navigation technology to map out your home.
