The IQ has a tiny footprint and a self-emptying function. However, if you wish to change the floor levels on the map or set no-go zones, you'll have to manually reset it in order to do this, which can be a bit of a hassle.
The IQ's app comes with advanced mapping and automation capabilities however, it's not able to access no-go zones, which are available on iRobot models. Its smart-pathing navigation system provides greater maneuverability and its high-pile carpet cleaning mode cleans well, but it tends to get caught up in rug tassels. Additionally, its iHome speaker lets you operate the robot by voice commands.
In our tests during our tests, the IQ was capable of handling pet hair effectively, clearing huge amounts of debris from bare floors and moderate amounts from medium-pile carpet. It was less effective with shag carpets, where it had a hard time reaching dirt and dust buried within the fibers. It was capable of maneuvering the legs of chairs and tight spaces as well as the base of a wooden IKEA step stool. We did notice it was a little slower on floors that were not paved, but it regained speed and performed more thoroughly than other robots we tested.
The IQ is a better option for the majority of users than the iRobot Roomba. It has a bigger dustbin and a longer battery lifespan and is more adept in navigating around obstacles. It has a mopping tool that can remove sticky messes. On the other side the iRobot is more durable and has fewer components that require maintenance or replacement and incurs lower costs for recurring maintenance and creates virtual no-go zones through its companion app. It is able to continue cleaning where it left off even if its battery runs out before it's finished. The iRobot can also be controlled using voice commands, which is a major benefit for many users.
Eufy 11S
The eufy RoboVac 11S isn't cleaning robot mop and vacuum the most feature-rich robot vacuum available however it offers powerful cleaning capabilities at an affordable price. The RoboVac 11S is designed for budget-conscious consumers who don't need a complex mapping system, or an app, to control it. This robot will last for up to an hour. In our tests, the eufy11S was very effective in removing larger debris and fine dust on hard floors. It struggled to deep clean medium and high-pile carpets. The device also has a tendency to bump into furniture and other objects in its path however, it's able detect obstacles with sensors. It ceases and emits a loud sound when it encounters an obstacle. You can then manually guide the device around the obstacle and restart it.
The BoostIQ mode is another great feature of the eufy11S. It allows you to set the robot up to automatically adjust the suction strength based on the floor type and the level of mess. It's also easy to use the remote to direct the 11S to where you'd like it to go.
Single Room Mode is a great alternative if you have a small amount of furniture in the room you'd like to vacuum. The eufy will spend up to 30 minutes cleaning the area it is assigned.
Edge Cleaning is another option that can limit the time spent on each surface to 20 minutes. This will maximize the battery's life. With this option the eufy can move in a spiral fashion, tackling corners and edges for an efficient clean.
Miele Complete C1
The Miele Complete C1 is an excellent mid-range canister robot vacuum and a top performer on carpet. Its performance on carpets with no floor is also outstanding. It can pick up rice and other small particles easily. The suction power doesn't drop as the dirt bin gets full. Its design that is allergy-friendly and sealed with air will trap allergens to keep your family healthy. It comes with an onboard HEPA and self-emptying bin, so you don't need additional filters or vacuum bags.
It's not as powerful as other models, but it's ideal for deep cleaning and taking on the toughest stains. It has two cameras on the front which provide a live feed to your smartphone. It also comes with one of the most advanced obstacle avoidance systems. It comes with a large bin, a long running time and an easy, bump-free clean-up.
